Points of Light started the Civic 50 awards in 2012 to recognize 50 of the most community-minded companies in the nation. Activate Good, as an affiliate of Points of Light, is among five organizations across the country hosting their own Civic 50.
We were incredibly honored to have been selected as part of Activate Good’s inaugural class for the Greater Triangle Civic 50! We found ourselves among many stand-up companies across the region.
Each Civic 50 honoree has taken an extensive survey which measures the investment, integration, institutionalization, and impact of their business. Congrats to all the honorees!
First ever York chili cook-off was a great success! Taking the 1st place prize today was Accounting Manager, Ryan Beacham. His secret? Bacon and chorizo!
Thanks to our judges as well as everyone who cooked!

Our Chief Financial Officer, Kris Bracy, has served on the Board of BELIEVE – Stroke Recovery Foundation since it was started in 2020. Her friends, Jennifer and Michael Erwin, established the foundation after Michael suffered a stroke. Their goal was to help others who have experienced strokes navigate the financial and emotional challenges of their journeys back to independence.
Kris is happy to serve on the Board because it is clear to her that the support the foundation provides makes a real and meaningful difference in the lives of stroke survivors and their families. She also knows firsthand how impactful it is to have support when dealing with a personal or family health crisis.
The BELIEVE Bash, which was the foundation’s first fundraiser, raised more than $117,000. There were approximately 200 people in attendance and York was a proud sponsor. Guests bid on silent auction items and enjoyed food from PoshNosh Catering.
